A little bit of nature within a residential neighborhood
Editor’s Note: Grab your bikes, some drinks and a cold lunch. A great place to enjoy nature, play and exercise.
Located in the quiet neighborhood of the Twelve Bridges area of Lincoln, Coyote Pond Park is a small but beautiful little park. The main draw is the pond, which is about the size of the insides of a high school track. Therefore, you can probably walk a couple of miles just going around the pond several times while enjoying the view of the occasional cranes, geese, ducks, rabbits, snakes, and quails. If you are lucky, you might spot a beaver and it has been told that otters may have made residences there.
The pond trail also attaches to a long bike path that you can walk, run or ride all the way to Wilson park and after that, you can cross the street to Twelve Bridges Village where places like Bagel and Bean are as well as Bakery & Boba. If you start at Coyote Pond, take the ride, run, or walk to Wilson Park, and then head back to Coyote Pond, you’ll probably have traveled 5 miles.
